VIP Care
An Invitation to Electronic Access/VIP Care
Dr. Punger’s just an e-mail away!
As you may be aware I have strived to answer all my e-mails personally. The sheer volume has forced me to change the way I do things. This is the second year of my Electronic Access/VIP care program. I love being able to provide this service. You may opt-in now or during your next appointment.
This program may be for you if you desire:
The convenience of increased electronic access to me with quick response avoiding the telephone and answering service.
Access to me early morning, after hours, and contact other times that the answering service usually covers.
The opportunity to access me before my staff or the group that is covering for my practice.
I know my patients without their charts. Therefore, many routine situations can be handled with e-mail after hours when you need it the most and followed-up with face-to-face exam when convenient, helping you to avoid waits at walk-in facilities. This can be re-assurance on weekends, holidays, when afar, and especially for families with young children.
Will my health insurance pay for all this? Yes and No. Healthcare’s challenges are often quite complex. Virtually all insurance is structured to pay for office visits and require a physical examination, and we will gladly bill your insurance when you are seen. However, physicians rarely receive payment for care provided without face-to-face contact, despite the obvious benefits such communication brings. To continue to provide you with this expanded level of service and convenience I have elected to ask our patients to support my innovative practice with an annual fee which will include all family members with current records.
For those opting in-My goal is not to dramatically change my practice model. Please continue to use my e-mail as you have in the past. If you prefer text or private messaging (Facebook), we can work that out.
Your responsibility would be to keep routine appointments and appropriate follow-up. Use sensible hours for questions that are not emergencies. Please don’t send me jokes, spam, IM’s etc… distracting me from your important communication.
I love providing you with this kind of service. It feels great when you free me from rigid insurance policies often void of common sense. Whereas, many practices shun e-mail, I am looking forward to the mutual benefits of this model.
What if I want to remain a patient in your practice, but don’t want to participate in e-mail or electronic communication? This higher level of service is optional. All patients will continue to receive exceptional office-based care with me at scheduled visit [M, T, W(pm) & F(am)] or first available (Nurse Practitioner or me) for same-day appointments requests. Most babies and all lactation will be scheduled to see me. You may still communicate with my trained office staff via office phone, e-mail, the’ contact us’ at twofloridadocs.com, and the answering service anytime. It is still my professional responsibility to take your emergency calls via the answering service after hours. I encourage all of you to participate in my educational blogs, Facebook, and social network discussions.
However, approaching me via private e-mail or messaging more than once about your own wellness and healthcare is considered VIP service.
I respect the time and priorities of each of my patients. I’d like to identify those who desire this service or other unique services. With the advancements in communication, I’d like your feedback because every day I strive to improve the way my patients receive health care. You can Click Here to contact me.

"Thank you, Denise! I've always appreciated your willingness to be available and interested in our medical needs. You are the only physician I know who goes to these lengths to provide patient care in times of need. Truly you are a physician of the people! Again, thank you. Be blessed!" bc
"You've always been there for my family. We are glad to have this service." pp
"I text you for antibiotics on New Year's Eve when I was out of town. My friends were amazed I could reach my doctor quickly." la
"I received your letter regarding your availability for your being accessible without office visits. I think this is fantastic, well deserved and want to sign up. My family is leaving Friday for a summer camping trip until the 1st week in August, so I'm SURE that means we'll need you. Like I said before - it's just not a vacation unless someone gets sick & we need to contact Dr. Punger!" jj
"I got your letter and I will gladly pay the fee. I think that you should be charging for email questions, I think I told you that before..... I don't know any other doctors that make themselves as available as you do. I really appreciate your commitment to your patients. I consider you my friend too which is groovy"! jm
